"Window of Opportunity" is a mini-circus of recent work by cutting-edge
Israeli artist Rafi Münz. Sculptor, painter, draftsman, designer,
anarchic master of collage and radical assemblage (not to
mention inspired and inspiring teacher), this art-maker defies
categorization. His work is cerebral and complex without being affected,
inaccessible or effete. A highly idiosyncratic postmodern expressionist,
Münz boldly challenges all that is "accepted", all that is "received".
He is an exemplar of the "criterionless choice" and a sensual advocate
of risk. He delights in the defiantly counter and in contradiction,
using both to assail the self-destructive tendencies of nations, of
institutions and of the individual. According to Münz, among these, only
the individual, alone and alienated, has the capacity for epiphany and
for decisive change. At once serious and light-hearted, skeptical and
hopeful, Münz's work is a covenant of intimacy. Each piece (and in this
case, the array of pieces that constitutes a greater whole) invites the
viewer into the making of art, into the making of meaning. Rafi Münz
opens eyes. He opens windows.

כאקספרסיוניסט פוסט-מודרני ייחודי, קורא תיגר על
כל מה שמקובל
ו"נכון", נהנה להתנגד למוסכמות ומשתמש בכל אלה כדי לתקוף את נטיותיהם של אומות,
ממסדים ואנשים פרטיים להרס עצמי. לדעתו, רק הפרט, כשהוא פועל לבדו,
יכול להגיע לתובנה ולחולל שינוי
מכריע. יצירותיו של מינץ, שהן רציניות וקלילות, ספקניות
ומלאות תקווה, מבטאות אינטימיות. כל עבודה (ובתערוכה זו, כמֵיצב המייצג
מכלול גדול ממנו) מזמינה את הצופה אל העשייה האומנותית ואל יצירת המשמעות.
